seems like i'm losing boost by heaps, when i took it for a drive yesterday first gear got 8psi, second gear it hit just over 0.. so i thought it must be a wastegate problem, put it up on the hoist today to check both wastegates and they both are functional.

its spiking really hard and feels like its struggling to boost up

Ok..I will bite...

Give us a bit more information...you have 2 turbos and 50 feet of vacuum hose under that bonnet. As such information you give us will be gold..

from 1000 to 7000rpm...what are your boost levels.

For example..is it your primary turbo not boosting? your secondary? whats the transition point like?
Have you done any mods recently? How old is the car? how many kms?
Is the exhaust stock? Aus spec or Jap spec?

And depending on your answers to ALL the questions above, we will either solve it for you in 5 secs...or ask a heap more questions :)

i know it hits about 8psi, then drops massively
probably kicks in at about 1700-1800rpm orso im not too sure on i will check tomorrow

it happends on both turbos, it boosts hard for about 3-4 seconds at the start of gear 1, then loss of power, probably 2 seconds for the start of 2nd gear, and by third i'm driving a hyundai

no mods since i got it, but it had this since i got it, its got hks pods which have a little hole on the hoses behind it from the metal thingy spinning

but i dont think its that

jap spec

kakimoto exhaust

2000 year type RB

73300 kms

im pretty sure the previous owner had tuned it cause theres a PFC plug that comes out the glove box (i think)

im not really good at explaining these kinda stuff, im quite noob when it comes to engines

if only u were in melb i'd drive it to you for a test drive then grab a beer

Well worst case scenario, you have Pete @ rice racing only about 2 hours drive away...

Get a more accurate guess on the boost levels for me...

However...it is possible it is the simple vacuum box issue (About the most common fault)...kinda sounds like it is the secondary turbo not boosting, and the primary running out of puff really early on..

Check the black plastic box behind the alternator..it has 2 x vacuum hoses on the right hand side..verify they are connected..
if so..undo the 2 x 10mm bolts (You may have to remove the sway bar first..4 x 14mm bolts) and lift the black vacuum box up..unplug the hose with the green and white check valve in line from the black box..unplug the check valve..blow through it both ways...it should only allow air to flow in one direction.
If all thats ok..we will need to investigate further...(A long list..but to do same you will need accurate descriptions of the problem at hand :) )

dont have any tools at home today so i couldnt take the vacuum box out :(

went for a test drive again
first gear, 3000rpm 4psi 4000rpm 6psi 5000rpm 8psi (roughly) i was trying to drive and read at the same time without killing anyone
second gear, 1psi all the way
third gear 1psi, same for 4th, and 5th gears..

then i stopped and did another run straight after the first..
first gear, hit up to 5000rpm and it only hit 2-3 psi

one question, are the wastegates electronically controlled?
cause i tested them manually with an air pump
