Hey,
well recently i have been rather interested in old school cars. Australia is fairly lucky that old Japanese cars arent as expensive as they are in Japan. Old cult classics are comming back in a big way, with Hakosuka 1972 GTRs fetching higher than $100,000.
I would really like to get one of the GT varieties at some stage. Maybe its just a phase im going through. Dont get me wrong, i adore my FD and think that we are owning something that will be treasured as a classic in 10 to 15 years time. Its just there is something about old classics that im starting to admire. And im not talking about the old classics that have white leather and a momo steering wheel, i mean original condition.
I used to own a 1972 VW golf and while i did get sick of the car, it had a lot of personality.
I really like the old sa22 rx7s, the old skylines, Z240, and old celicas.
Well im wondering what old school classic car or cars you like?

Basically any old rotary.
Decent old (mostly US) muscle. Preferably Mopars. Hemi = win.
Some odd Euro trash but otherwise Jap & American.

They crank those thing out like no tomorrow in the US. You can build a whole car from brand new parts. Including the buying a new shell. Great looking car!

Cars like the old celicas, that are worth next to nothing in Australia, will one day be highly sort after.

I think Australia has a nearly non-existent local Toyota history, with only thing interesting being imports. We don't appreciate Toyotas as performance or classics as much as others!
The only (local, domestic derived) appreciation comes from the cardigan set and 4WDs... :)

And have you seen the prices lately? almost affordable again..
Even Clarkson rated it #1 in his top 100 cars of all time..
Although he had a Range Rover at #2 or 3 IIRC, and everyone knows how gay they are.. :)

Mini Cooper S MKII.
I have had one, and it was by far the most fun car I have ever had, by a very long way.
I like some of the really old Toyota Crowns too...
Kinda partial to the good ol VW Beetle too...
