I`m finishing up my single build and soon I will need a downpipe made. It I stay out of boost, and keep the revs to less than 3k would it be OK to drive it dumping right out of the turbo for about 50kms...
If not I will get it towed, but I would rather not spend $100 on a tow on top of the cost for the downpipe. It would basically be just a big exhaust leak, right...

You will also melt anything in the path of the exhaust...and your engine bay will turn black with soot and crap...
Tow it.....much better than something catching fire and burning the car to the ground....and much cheaper than cops catching you...
arse rape for noise, and for EPA..(EG 10k fine for no cat!)

yeh the noise isnt the issue, I drove with just the SMB dump connected, and it was VEEEERRRRRRRRRRRY loud but you would get down there.
The fire is the concern, as Sandy states, its just too far into the engine bay, at least with just a dump connected it exits under the car, not so in your case though

ok, i guess it will get towed. I didn't really think of the fire issue. noise/cats isn't really an issue (I'm in Canada).. no emissions laws where I live.

lol, well it's only recent. we used to have to test, but now it's all good. although you can get a tix for no cat, but the cops here are too stupid to know. Modified cars are also "legal" in a sense, or maybe less "frowned upon." I used to own a Skyline and was always on the SkylinesAustralia.com forum and was amaized at all the stuff you guys have to do to keep your cars legal. As much as I would love to live there, the car laws are a big turn off.
