I would like to hear people's serious thoughts on the Ultimate
Time Attack FD series platform. Something that knocks the
PanSpeed RX7 off the top sheet etc...

Obvious Things.

Serious Power 550+ rwhp (very serious really)
Seriously Light Less than 1100 Kg
Seriously Grip (inherently well balanced and stiffened chassis)
Serious Torque Taming (Gearbox, Differentials, TC etc...)
Serious Traction (Suspension, and complete geometry adjust)
Serious Stopping (Touring Car big)

What else is needed to make one of these fly.

I am seriously considering building one of these so the information
is not purely theoretical I have left it too late for 2008 events
but for the 2009 version of this sort of series

I would like the EVO and GTR drivers to be a little afraid
of a nice quick fire breathing FD.

Benchmark Price should come in at under $150,000.00 AUD
which is the projected price of the new GTR supercar with
benchmarked performance to shame one.

I guess goals to shoot for plucking numbers mainly out of thin air would be

0 - 100 K's 4.0 Seconds
0 - 160 K's 7.0 Seconds
0 - 200 K's 10.0 Seconds
0 - 400 Metres 11.0 Seconds or less.

A 0 - 100 K's - 0 in less than 6 Seconds.

There was a guy in Sydney building an FD that would have been seriously quick - big brakes, decent suspension and a quad rotor engine low and far back in the chassis...

Something happened and he ended up selling it all off as far as I know.

Seriously dissapointed that didnt end up seeing the light of day..

You pretty much touched all the bases.

But a couple more things I though about which I’m doing to mine:
Lowering / Changing the Centre of Gravity:
- Modified Fuel Cell Location
- Relocated Battery
- Engine Mounting & Moved Back
- Seating Positing
- Modified Suspension Geometry
Wider Track
- Widebody from 30mm to 70mm up to you
Aero
- Flat Underbody (In design)
- Front Canards & Splitter
- Diffuser
- Rear Wing

I think an E-diff of some kind like the new Ferraris have rather than TC would be far better
