We all have to use some form of tape sooner or later with the works on our vehicles.
Feel free to list and discuss the merits of any good products you have found.

Silicone Self Fusing Tape
I found this tape whilst looking for something to wrap my engine wiring loom in.
Brand: Rescue Tape
Attributes: Self fusing, Permanent Seal, Water Proof, Air Tight, 700PSI Strength!!, 260 Degree Celsius (500F) Insulates up to 8000 Volts,
Resists: Fuels, Oil, Acids, Solvents, Salt Water, Road Salt, UV Rays
Available Fromwww.rescuetape.com Ph 0419 77 55 99

Description / experiences: Ok, I havent used it yet, however it appears a very nice tape. You simply stretch it and wrap it around itself. Fuses EXTREMELY strongly. If it works to meet 50% of its claims it is more than adequate for me.
I will put some in my rally car tool box (Incase of fuel hose failure, electrical requirements etc..)
The Wiring loom on my engine bay is brittle as..I will rebuild it, wrap it in nice new convoluted tubing, wrap in PVC electrical tape, then wrap in aluminium foil, and finally finish wrapping the entire loom in this new "rescue tape" Should look very very nice and work for my requirements.

It is also available in a range of colours (Sorry...no pink..I asked...but they do have red!)

I just purchased and used some "RubberWeld" tape. I think it's very similar to what Craysus has bought above. I bought this from my local marine store and just used it for wiring in my GPS on my fishing boat. Great product basically you stretch it then wrap it around your wiring etc (has heaps of uses) and it forms a water proof seal that's rated at 1000c in terms of heat (that's what it said on the packaging). Would be a good thing for the emergency kit too ie you could use it to seal a radiator hose etc as it's pressure resistant too. I'll be using it in my wiring on the RX7 to protect terminals/wiring from heat in the engine bay as well as sealing them from moisture etc.

is it 3M? - I found from experience that they make the best double sided tape but everything needs to be super clean ie wax and grease cleaner (ie Prepsol) on the area first to remove any trace of oil etc on the dash. Only prob is Prepsol may dis-colour your dash so use it carefully.
