View Full Version : Charge release gate soleniod
The charge release gate soleniod spends 99% of its working life with 12V (power) running through it where all the others spend around 01% - 05% of their working life with 12V running through them.
These soleniods appear to fail more so on the 16-bit cars (JDM series-7 + series-8) possibly due to the heating issues from that cramped closed in soleniod box.
This soleniod is a common failure on the FD. Who has had their charge release gate soleniods fail so far.........???

im not 100% if i do but i do have a problem...
if i change gears during the turbo transition (4-5k rpm) next gear i have no boost..
i been thinking it might be a sticky actuator or a solenoid problem or a vacuum leak...
its like when the revs dip under the 4k mark and the first turbo is supposed to be spooling/boosting again, its not. instead its like boost being bled off (maybe still to 2nd turbo??)...
its been getting to me more and more...
if it is what ur talking about then any help would be appreciated...
*edit* its an 02 version VI RB-S

I have changed my TC, CC and all check valves and vacuum lines.
Search "vacuum" on this forum and then look at my "S8 Vacuum Thread"
