Okay so ever since i bought my car i've pretty much been fixing up things on it that were fucked or done bodgy. One of those things is a dual stage boost controller, which im trying to remove from the car. Now the unit itself is a turbosmart one and it only has two wires that come out of it, a blue wire and a brown wire. i have attatched a quick but understanable diagram to give you an idea on how the thing is currently wired up as it looks as if the relay has been wired incorrectly (although strangely it still worked )

now i want to eliminate this thing as if it was never there, what do i do with the ORANGE/black wire? I am leaning toward grounding it as when i turn the key to the on position withe the wire connected to the relay the rad fans come on and when i take it off the relay the fans turn off (this is on a dead cold engine too). also the diagram has one wire which says spliced into Black w/yellow stripe wire on relay circled, well i dont have a picture of the relay but its the one at the front on the higher pair mounted on the bracket. i'm assuming i can just 'un-splice' this wire and cover with heatshrink.

Now i downloaded the installation manual for this off the turbosmart website and it said that the blue wire was positive and the brown wire was negative. i done some tests on the relay to determine which pins had power when and these are the results :

Car Off
pin 30 - ground
pin 85 - ground
pin 86 - ground
pin 87 - Live

Car On
Pin 30 - Ground
Pin 85 - Live
Pin 86 - Ground
Pin 87 - Ground

This is what it should be from what i have found in the past:

Car Off
pin 30 - constant power
pin 85 - constant ground
pin 86 - ground
pin 87 - ground

Car On
Pin 30 - Constant Power
Pin 85 - constant ground
Pin 86 - live
Pin 87 - live

also i tested the pin on the relay that the orange w/black stripe wire connects to (without the wire connnected to it, and with the car turned on but not started) and it was a ground point (ie read 12.xx volts on multimeter with red on battery terminal and black on the relay pin). also i tried just putting the terminal to the chassis, it did not spark at all, just the fans turned on.

Sorry for this being a bit long-winded just didnt want to jump into it without knowing.

thanks,
Brad.
